STATE WATER RESOURCES CONTROL BOARD
RESOLUTION NO. 97-014
ACCEPTANCE OF A $571,367 GRANT FROM THE UNITED STATES ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY (EPA) TO CARRY OUT ACTIVITIES
FOR NEW RIVER AND TIJUANA RIVER POLLUTION ABATEMENT
WHEREAS:
1. Improvement of New River and Tijuana River water quality is a high priority of the State Water Board;
2. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has allocated 27.5 million dollars for New River pollution abatement projects;
3. $571,367 is available from the EPA for State and Regional Board activities on New River and Tijuana River pollution abatement projects;
4. The State Water Board will provide technical and program support; and
5. The Colorado River Basin Regional Water Quality Control Board will conduct a sampling program on the New River.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
The State Water Board hereby authorizes the Executive Director to accept a $571,367 grant from the EPA to fund State and Regional Water Board staff costs associated with New River and Tijuana River pollution abatement projects.

The undersigned, Administrative Assistant to the Board, does hereby certify that the foregoing is a full, true, and correct copy of a resolution duly and regularly adopted at a meeting of the State Water Resources Control Board held on February 20, 1997.
