RESOLUTION NO. 98-006
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO AMEND AN INTERAGENCY AGREEMENT
WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF FISH AND GAME TO ADD FUNDS FOR EQUIPMENT FOR THE
STATE MUSSEL WATCH PROGRAM IN FISCAL YEAR (FY) 1997-98
WHEREAS:
- The State Water Resources Control Board's (SWRCB) State Mussel Watch
Program (SMWP), initiated in 1976, is designed to detect the presence and
concentration of toxic pollutants in mussels and clams in estuarine and
marine waters.
- The Department of Fish and Game (DFG) has satisfactorily operated the
field collection and laboratory aspects of the SWRCB's SMWP in accordance
with interagency agreements for 21 years.
- Water Code Section 13177, which became effective on January 1, 1998,
appropriates $145,000 from the General Fund to the SWRCB for use in the
SMWP.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
The SWRCB authorizes the Executive Director or his designee to amend
the DFG interagency agreement to add $145,000 for SMWP equipment replacement
in FY 1997-98.
CERTIFICATION
The undersigned, Administrative Assistant to the Board, does hereby certify
that the foregoing is a full, true, and correct copy of a resolution duly
and regularly adopted at a meeting of the State Water Resources Control
Board held on January 22, 1998.
