STORM WATER POLLUTION AND OCEAN MONITORINGTo protect beachgoers, water quality at Los Angeles County beaches is monitored on a weekly basis by various state, county and local agencies. This monitoring allows officials to determine the health and safety of local waters, including whether bacteria levels exceed State mandated water quality standards. When bacteria levels rise above state standards, warning signs are posted on affected beaches to warn beachgoers of the dangers of entering the water. These warning signs are posted to protect the health of those at the beach. Please always read and obey these posted signs.
