| Environmental Conditions: | The Walker Mine discharged water with elevated metals concentrations from the ¿700 Level Main Access Adit¿ to Dolly Creek starting in 1941 when the mine was closed. In 1987, the Central Valley Water Board sealed the adit with a concrete plug, and Dolly Creek was redirected away from the mine tailings. The plug has essentially stopped the flow of acid mine drainage to Dolly Creek. Water quality in Dolly Creek has greatly improved since that time. | ||||
