SWAMP- Measurement Quality Objectives

SWAMP IQ logo The SWAMP Information Management & Quality Assurance Center (IQ Center) is in the process of developing new Quality Control and Sample Handling Tables. The new Quality Control and Sample Handling Tables are listed in the first section below, followed by the tables posted in 2013 listed in the second section.

Overview

The Quality Control and Sample Handling Tables describe guidelines that are also known as Measurement Quality Objectives (MQOs) or MQO Tables. The MQO Tables are organized by analytical method or matrix category, and specify requirements for each analyte and parameter in SWAMP's scope. In addition to these specified requirements, recommended guidance is provided for:

  • Sample containers
  • Sample preservation
  • Sample holding time
  • Lab and field corrective actions

Quality Control and Sample Handling Tables

The tables below replace those previously appearing in the 2008 SWAMP Quality Assurance Program Plan (QAPrP).

  • Projects beginning on or after January 1, 2013 must adhere to the guidelines in the tables below.
  • Projects active prior to January 1, 2013 may choose to adopt the 2013 tables or may continue to completion using the guidelines in the 2008 tables. To request a copy of the 2008 tables, please contact the SWAMP Quality Assurance Help Desk.

Differences between the 2008 and 2013 tables are itemized in the Appendix Revision Summary.

Revisions to the toxicity MQOs are itemized in the Revisions to the Measurement Quality Objectives for Acute and Chronic Toxicity Tests document.
