Green Valley Foods Products Inc. Stipulated Agreement for Replacement Water

Overview

Green Valley Foods Products Inc. is a cheese manufacturing facility. Past disposal practices may have impacted groundwater in the area. In October 2016, Green Valley Foods Products Inc. took water samples from water supply wells near the facility. The results of those water supply well samples indicate that Nitrate as Nitrogen exceeds the drinking water standard in two wells. On June 14, 2017, Green Valley Foods Products Inc. began providing replacement water to two properties. On July 6, 2017 the Assistant Executive Officer signed the Stipulated Agreement for Replacement Water for Green Valley Foods Products Inc.. On July 26, 2017, the Discharger also signed the Stipulated Agreement for Replacement Water which requires replacement water until the supply water meets the drinking water standard. Additional investigations are planned and future water sampling results will further define the area of impact.

The Stipulated Agreement public review and comment period ended August 31, 2017. The Stipulated Agreement is in affect.
