Sulphur Creek Mercury Basin Plan Amendment
The Sulphur Creek Mercury Basin Plan Amendment (BPA) was adopted by the Central Valley Water Board on 16 March 2007. It was approved by the State Water Resources Control Board on 18 March 2008 and the California Office of Administrative Law on 27 June 2008. The U.S. EPA approved the amendment as a water quality standard on 4 September 2009. The BPA determined that Sulphur Creek does not support the Municipal (MUN) Beneficial Use or the human consumption of aquatic organisms and established a site-specific water quality objective for mercury.
