Guadalupe River at Willow Emergency Bank Stabilization

The San Francisco Regional Water Quality Control Board is currently reviewing an application for the following project for water quality certification under Section 401 of the Clean Water Act. We encourage public comments on the proposed work, which will be considered in the decision on certification. You may submit comments on this project to the staff member below.

Project Name:

Guadalupe River at Willow Emergency Bank Stabilization
City/County:

San Jose, Santa Clara County
Comment Period:

6/4/2024 - 6/24/2024
Project Description:

The proposed erosion repair project is at the downstream end of an existing bank repair. In 2020, a private entity completed an erosion repair project with rock slope protection (RSP) adjacent to our proposed erosion project. The transition from the RSP to earthen bank is on an outer bend, which created a weak point on the bank and sheared laterally. The erosion has reduced top of bank right of way and has progressed to the residential fence line. Continued erosion would result in potential loss of private property and structures on adjacent parcels
