San Francisquito Creek Flood Reduction Project

Introduction

This page pertains to the San Francisquito Creek Flood Reduction Project located in Palo Alto and East Palo Alto, on the border of San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties. The San Francisquito Creek Joint Power Authority (JPA) is the Project sponsor. The project is divided into two phases. The Phase 1 project is under construction, and involves modifications to the San Francisquito Creek channel and associated levees from San Francisco Bay up to Highway 101. The Phase 2 project is in the planning stages, and may entail modifications from Highway 101 up to about Middlefield Road. The JPA plans to release a draft environmental impact report in early 2018 for the Phase 2 project. This page does not provide a comprehensive list of all documents for the Project, but it contains many recent and select documents pertaining to permit applications, environmental assessments, technical reports, Regional Water Board regulatory actions, stakeholder communications, and correspondence between the Water Board and the JPA. If you have any questions, please contact Susan Glendening at 510-622-2462, or via email at susan.glendening@waterboards.ca.gov.
