Project Name:

ALA-84-PM 15.5, Caltrans Emergency Slipout Repair
City/County:

Sunol, Alameda County
Comment Period:

3/6/2025 - 3/26/2025
Project Description:

On February 20, 2024, an atmospheric river produced flood level flows that caused an embankment failure at SR84PM15.5 that measured approximately 50'x15'x20'. The flows washed out two k-rail and caused the stone-mortar wall and adjacent roadway in the eastbound lane to collapse into Alameda Creek. Following the embankment failure, immediately closed due to the damage resulting in an emergency situation that could have potentially resulted in an unacceptable hazard to life and property.
