BART Transbay Tube Cathodic Protection Maintenance Work |

Oakland, Alameda County |
Comment Period: |
11/15/2024 - 12/5/2024 |
Project Description: |
The anode sleds (formerly referred to as anode array assemblies) and cables are a part of a cathodic protection (CP) system that inhibits corrosion of the external steel shell of the BART Transbay Tube (TBT). Anode sleds deteriorate over a period of time. In addition, ship traffic has damaged the anode sleds and the connecting cable, requiring replacement. Periodic repair and replacement of the anode sleds and cable ensures structural integrity of the Transbay Tube. |
