Project Name:

Bay Area Ridge Trail - Fremont To Garin
City/County:

Fremont, Union City, Alameda County
Comment Period:

1/15/2025 - 2/4/2025
Project Description:

To open approximately 5 miles of the Bay Area Ridge Trail to the public between Garin Regional Park and Vallejo Mill Historical Park at the mouth of Niles Canyon. The Ridge Trail is a planned and partially complete 550-mile multi-use trail along the ridgelines surrounding the San Francisco Bay. When complete, the trail will connect over 75 parks and open space areas and provide access for hikers, runners, mountain bicyclist and equestrians. The proposed project would partially close the gap between Garin Regional Park and Vargas Plateau Regional Park, would provide public access at an existing staging area, and would create a continous segment of Ridge Trail stretching over 50 miles from Niles Canyon to Kennedy Grove Regional Recreation Area.
