The purpose of the project is to restore detention capacity, improve amenity values, and to restore and preserve the aquatic habitat of Pond 11, which supports a breeding population of California red-legged frogs (Rana draytonii, CRF). Without sediment removal, aquatic habitat in Pond 11 will be filled by sediment deposits and much of the aquatic habitat will be replaced by uplands. The overall goal of the project is to maintain detention capacity and the visual and aesthetic values of an open water pond in a golf course and residential setting. |
