| Project Description: |
Goat Island Marsh is a 70-acre diked, muted tidal marsh on the Rush Ranch Open Space Preserve, located in Suisun Marsh, Solano County, California (Figure 1). The site, located in the northwest corner of Rush Ranch, has been long slated for restoration to tidal marsh by the property owner (Solano Land Trust) to improve ecological functions, watershed connectivity, and public access opportunities, thereby enhancing and expanding the rich mosaic of pristine habitats found at Rush Ranch and improving the visitor experience including its heavy emphasis on environmental education for local schools. |
