Project Name:

Lateral 56D over Green Valley Creek Emergency Repair Project
City/County:

Fairfield, Solano County
Comment Period:

5/3/2024 - 5/23/2024
Project Description:

Pipeline 56 D is buried through the bed of Green Valley Creek. In April of 2023, water ceased passing through the pipeline and bubbles could be seen in the flows in the creek indicating a break and blockage of the pipeline. This pipeline seryes a substantial number of residences in the Green Valley Estates area and serves several vineyards and parcels which are used for other farming purposes. The flows in Green Valley Creek were not predicted to decline to a level in which excavation work could be safely and economically conducted to excavate the pipe and replace the pipe before the demand for water for the lots and residences and farming property served will reach summertime levels; therefore, temporary emergency replacement occurred at that time.
