Project Name:

Silveira Novato Ranch Emergency Culvert and Flood Gate Replacement
City/County:

Unincorporated, Marin County
Comment Period:

10/31/2024 - 11/20/2024
Project Description:

Recently discovered failed culvert and floodgate have allowed tidal water to enter our pasture area, presenting a hazard to livestock and personnel and adversing affecting our pasture property (grassland for livestock). Failed culvert and floodgate will be replaced by a new HOPE culvert (five feet shorter) and same type of floodgate. The culvert footprint will be smaller. A small amount of rip rap will be placed adjacent to the outlet if necessary. This situation necessitates prompt attention because the only access is cross country, which is impossible during the rainy season.
