Temescal Creek Soil Testing and Removal Project


The San Francisco Regional Water Quality Control Board is currently reviewing an application for the following project for water quality certification under Section 401 of the Clean Water Act. Project Description:

Temescal Creek is a concrete-lined channel through the Project reach, maintained by the District. Sediment has accumulated along the bed of the channel and needs to be removed to maintain flood flow capacity. The District has determined that 3 to 5 feet of debris and sediments have accumulated within the channel with an additional 2 feet of silt present within a 60-inch diameter, 320-foot long reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) owned by the City of Emeryville.
