Project Name:

Zone 7 Water Agency - 2023 Emergency Repairs Project
City/County:

Pleasanton, Alameda County
Comment Period:

9/17/2024 - 10/7/2024
Project Description:

Zone 7 Water Agency proposes to repair three bank failures in response to damage incurred in winter 2022/23 during an extended period of significant storm events and abnormally high stream flows that contributed to substantial scour, erosion, and sedimentation in these three locations of Zone 7’s maintenance area. The storm period was a local, state and federally declared disaster event. The storms of winter 2022/2023 resulted in 177 damages to Zone 7- owned and maintained channels. These three sites herein were identified as critical due to their proximity to important infrastructure. The damages threaten the flood control channel’s stability and ability to protect people and property from flooding. Repairs to the banks will return the channels to their designed level of service and safety.
