San Diego Region - Underground Storage Tank (UST) Cleanup Program
UST Program
The San Diego Water Board UST Program provides regulatory oversight for the investigation and cleanup of sites impacted by leaking USTs, and develops regional guidance on implementing the policies and procedures of the State Water Resources Control Board. This information is maintained in the on-line GeoTracker database. For more information on the statewide Underground Storage Tank Program, please visit the State Water Resources Control Board Leaking Underground Storage Tank Website.
The San Diego Region spans portions of three counties (San Diego, Orange, and Riverside) and, in addition to the San Diego Water Board, the respective county's environmental health departments also oversee investigation and cleanup at leaking UST sites. Requirements for closure of leaking UST cases are provided in the Low-Threat Underground Storage Tank Case Closure Policy.
