Oil & Gas Programs

California has oil, gas, and water resources in close proximity to each other. The State Water Board has several programs designed to protect water quality and define where water resources exist within areas of oil and gas production. These programs intend to protect all waters designated for any beneficial use, while prioritizing water that is or has the potential to be a source of drinking water.
