- Water Quality Petitions Currently Under Consideration for Review by the State Water Board (as of November 14, 2024).
- The State Water Board is considering whether to grant review of the following current active petitions for review of regional water quality control board actions or failures to act. These petitions for review will be dismissed by operation of law if (1) the State Water Board does not issue a letter granting review or (2) the State Water Board does not receive a written request from the petitioner that the petition be held in abeyance, prior to 5:00 p.m. on the corresponding deadline. (California Code of Regulations, title 23, section 2050.5, subdivision (e).) Any exhibits identified in the petitions are available upon request by emailing waterqualitypetitions@waterboards.ca.gov. Active water quality petitions that were received by the State Water Board prior to August 16, 2024 are not listed below because they were dismissed by operation of law effective on the 91st day after receipt, unless (1) the State Water Board granted review or (2) the petitioner placed the petition into abeyance, prior to 5:00 p.m. on the 90th day after receipt. Note that this table does not include petitions that are currently being held in abeyance or requests that the State Water Board review a regional water quality control board’s action or failure to act on the State Water Board’s own motion.
