Project Description:
The Lundy Hydroelectric Project (Project) is located on Mill Creek in Mono County, California. A portion of the Project occupies federal land in Inyo National Forest managed by the U.S. Forest Service and partly on federal land managed by the U.S. Department of the interior Bureau of Land Management. The remaining land is privately owned by Southern California Edison Company with a small parcel of land near the powerhouse owned by Mono County. The Project has a dependable capacity of 3 megawatts at the Lundy Powerhouse. The average annual generation from 2013 to 2022 was between 4,116 to 16,799 megawatt-hours. The Project facilities include Lundy Dam, which impounds Lundy Lake; an intake, penstock, Lundy Powerhouse, and a water distribution system by which flows are directed to meet the water rights of water right holders. Lundy Lake has a storage capacity of 4,029 acre-feet of water. Lundy Lake is drawn down in the winter to allow storage capacity for spring runoff.
