Scott River Watershed Curtailment Orders and Addendums for 2024 Scott-Shasta Emergency Regulations
Scott River Watershed Curtailment Status:
No curtailments are currently in effect for the Scott River watershed. The State Water Board’s Division of Water Rights (Division) is aware of the uncontained Shelly Fire and is monitoring conditions in the Scott River watershed.
Flows at the USGS Fort Jones gage are declining and approaching the minimum flow requirement for July of 50 cubic feet per second. In consideration of the Shelly Fire and its impacts, the Division will not issue curtailment orders this week and will assess conditions again over the weekend. The Division will monitor the fire’s progression and the extent of evacuation orders and evacuation warnings.
The Division encourages water users whose lands are not threatened to minimize diversions, where possible, to preserve water for all beneficial purposes, including both fire protection and fisheries needs.
