Kaweah Subbasin

The State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) released a revised hearing notice with a new probationary hearing date: January 7, 2025. The deadline for written comments on the probationary hearing draft staff report for the Kaweah Subbasin is 12:00 noon on Monday, July 8, 2024. The purpose of the Draft Staff Report is to inform the State Water Board as it considers whether to designate the Kaweah Subbasin as a probationary basin consistent with the requirements of the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA).

Important Dates

These public workshops are opportunities to learn more about the potential State Water Board actions and to provide public comment on the Draft Staff Report for the Kaweah Subbasin. No regulatory decisions will be made at these workshops. Both workshops will have the same content.

Probationary Hearing – January 7, 2025

On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, the State Water Board will hold a public hearing to consider designating the Kaweah Subbasin as a probationary basin under SGMA.
