Unresolved Deficiencies and Findings

The State Water Board Evaluation staff reviews the Final Summary of Findings and Closing Letter from the previous evaluation to identify any unresolved deficiencies or incidental findings carried over into the current evaluation cycle.

A deficiency or incidental finding may carry over to the next evaluation cycle for the following reasons:

  • The CUPA did not complete the corrective action or resolution.
  • The CUPA partially completed the corrective action or resolution, but it could not be fully addressed before the start of the next evaluation cycle
    • Example:
      • The UST Operating Permit was corrected but has not yet been distributed to UST facilities.

If the unresolved deficiency or incidental finding is corrected prior to the next evaluation cycle, it will be noted as resolved in the statement of findings document.
