Water Resiliency - Respond
Respond
Respond to incidents by implementing applicable plans. This is where we put the people, policies, and procedure to its true tests. Follow the SEMS/NIMS/ICS systems. Practice the 4 Cs – Communicate, Coordinate, Cooperate, and Collaborate with the partners and stakeholders.
After the conclusion of the incident(s), conduct a hotwash to analyze what went well and what can be done better and document it for partners and stakeholders to learn in the form of the After-Action Report (AAR).
In protecting public health, a critical response is to alert the community with instructions on what to do in the event of a water related incident. The DDW has guidance and templates for unsafe water notifications found here - https://www.waterboards.ca.gov/drinking_water/certlic/drinkingwater/Notices.html
