Total Nitrogen Applied (TNA) Report / Irrigation and Nutrient Management Plan (INMP) Summary Report
Quick Links
TNA
Growers required under Ag Order 3.0 to submit a Total Nitrogen Applied (TNA) Report for their ranch must continue to submit reporting, regardless of assigned ranch Groundwater Phase Area.
Growers are required to monitor the total amount of nitrogen applied to their ranch and report information to the Water Board in a Total Nitrogen Applied (TNA) Report. This requirement is phased in, based on assigned ranch Groundwater Phase Area. Required reporting includes nitrogen applied to crops from all sources such as fertilizer, organic fertilizer, compost, irrigation water, as well as additional information.
Please refer to the links below, and the Compliance Calendar, for additional details and dates for each Groundwater Phase Area.
Calculating Excel Tools
“Weighted Average Concentration” tool to calculate the weighted average nitrogen concentration if more than one sample from one or more sources of irrigation water was used.
“Convert to Gallons” tool to convert the volume applied from acre-feet or acre-inches into gallons.
“N from Fertilizers” tool to calculate the weighted average amount of nitrogen fertilizer applied on multiple crop rotations.
“Liquid Fertilizer Nitrogen Applied” tool to calculate Pounds of Nitrogen in Liquid Fertilizers.
“Dry Fertilizer Nitrogen Applied” tool to calculate Pounds of Nitrogen in Dry Fertilizers
INMP
Growers are required to monitor the total amount of nitrogen applied and removed from their ranch and report information to the Water Board in an Irrigation and Nutrient Management Plan (INMP) Summary Report. This requirement is phased in, based on assigned ranch Groundwater Phase Area. The INMP Summary Report satisfies the TNA Report requirement; therefore, an additional, separate TNA Report is not required to be submitted when the INMP Summary Report is submitted. Eventually, all growers will be submitting INMP Summary Reports regardless of assigned ranch Groundwater Phase Area. Required reporting includes nitrogen applied to crops from all sources, nitrogen removed from the field for each specific crop, as well as additional information
Please refer to the links below, and the Compliance Calendar, for additional details and dates for each Groundwater Phase Area.
