State Water Project and Central Valley Project Temporary Urgency Change Petition
This page has information regarding Temporary Urgency Change Petitions (TUCP) submitted by the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) and the United States Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) during the current drought. A clickable tab at the bottom of the page expands to information from the last drought (2012 - 2016).
DWR and Reclamation (owners and operators of the State Water Project and Central Valley Project, respectively (collectively Projects)), through their TUCPs have requested changes to water right requirements included in State Water Board Decision 1641 (D-1641) to allow management of reservoir releases on a pattern that conserves upstream storage for fish and wildlife protection and Delta salinity control while providing critical water supply needs.
